Van 't Spit
This is a place to eat chicken. They serve chicken and chicken only. If you don't like eating poultry you can stop reading now, this is not the place for you. But if you do... well, it's fingerlicking good!
At Van 't Spit they serve you roasted chicken like it is supposed to. With the crispy seasoned skin and a refreshing napkin to clean your fingers. The other thing I like about this place is that they have a variety of sauces, all from their own kitchen. Watch out with the piri piri sauce though, IT IS HOT as a mofo.
I ordered half a chicken, which is more than enough for one person in my opinion. As a side dish I had the sweet potato mash, which is really delicious too! Combine that with a gin tonic, my favorite drink, and the party is complete :).
Another good thing is that the Van 't Spit chickies came from a local farmer, biological and had a humane life. I don't eat a lot of meat, (poultry that is), but if I do I'm always aware of what I'm eating.
