Bar Bistro Calypso
Did you notice the rise of the early meals? Breakfast spots are popping out of the ground like Whac-A-Mole. I don't mind though. I love a long bulky breakfast. Especially on weekend days.
Bar Bistro Calypso openend on January first this year. I had no time to visit until last weekend. It is located on Stratumseind, right in the middle of the street, where the little square is.
The interior is fabulous and totally my cup of tea. Super cute table cloths and a 70s vibe. Lots of plants too. AND since I'm doing a 50 days of green food meal plan, they could provide me with a no-bread soy yogurt oatmeal dish! Happy me. Besides the health factor, it was really tasty.
My man chose the small breakfast plate which is a real looker. Two slices of bread, egg, fresh orange juice, vegetable spread, jam, fresh fruit, ham, cheese... My dish was delightful but seeing his food made me jealous. It reminded me of my long gone favorite breakfast place of all, I still miss you "Ludwig".
Good job Calypso! I've only paid a visit once but I'm convinced this wasn't the last time. A really good place for late Sunday brunching and staying for drinks.
This place isn't only for breakfast though. They have themed dinner days, for example: on Wednesdays they serve meatballs (woensdag gehaktdag) or try the Cheessea Saturday.
