A touch of color amongst all of the white. Strijp S (definitely) needed some color and there it is: Soul Kitchen!
Since 2015 Soul Kitchen opened its doors at 'Torenallee'. The interior is cozy, the room is filled with re-used and donated things. Somehow it reminds me of KNSM island in Amsterdam. Perhaps because of the large windows, that are all the way down to the ground. Great vibe!
They have an interesting concept of cooking up big pots of food. Three different dishes each day.
One vegetarian dish, one dish with meat and one with fish. For a really small price (EUR 8,50) you can choose one of these dishes as your main course. You can find their, daily fresh, menu on Facebook.
We tried all of the dishes today, in small portions. (Beef stew, fish paella and couscous salad).
Everything was really tasty! The bread you'll get is on the house. I love the spread that comes with it! And the staff is really friendly.
In the 'relax' corner you can read a book or play a game of chess. They really try to make you feel welcome and at home. A warm-hearted place with a well-chosen name, which actually says it all.
